This collection of shellscripts is intended to convert the *.json-export from a yahoo-group into html files.
These are files in the archive:

* README.txt
* msg_json2html.sh - converts a single mail from json to html. It expects the number from the filename as first option.
* create_msgs.sh - simply calls msg_json2html.sh for all .json-Files in the local directory
* create_index.sh - creates index.html, a list of all messages sorted by date
* create_topic.sh - creates topic.html, a list of all messages sorted by topic and date
* header - the html-part of the individual html-message-file before the messageBody. You may adopt it to your needs
* footer - the html-part of the individual html-message-file after the messageBody. You may adopt it to your needs
* index_header - the html-part of the index.html before the listing-table. You may adopt it to your needs
* index_footer - the html-part of the index.html after the listing-table. You may adopt it to your needs
* topic_header - the html-part of the topic.html before the listing-table. You may adopt it to your needs
* topic_footer - the html-part of the topic.html after the listing-table. You may adopt it to your needs

HOW TO USE IT:

the archive from yahoo comes as a *zip-file. Lets assume it is MyYahooList.zip
Extract that file. You will get an directory with the same name ./MyYahooList/.
Inside this directory there are following subdirectories:
./MyYahooList/about
./MyYahooList/attachments
./MyYahooList/calendar
./MyYahooList/databases
./MyYahooList/email
./MyYahooList/files
./MyYahooList/links
./MyYahooList/members
./MyYahooList/photos
./MyYahooList/polls

Place all the shell-scripts (*.sh) and all the index* and footer* files from this collection in the subdirectory ./MyYahooList/email
change into this directory on the commandline
enter the following commands on the commandline:

./create_msgs.sh

./create_index.sh

./create_topic.sh

After that you will find a html-File for each json-file (with the exception of two files named masages...), an a file index.html and a file topic.html.
You are done. Now you may open the index.html in your browser.
